VSUP MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS, PROGRAMS, AND SERVICES

• Membership in a professional development partnership with the Curry School of Education of the University of Virginia and 24 school divisions in central Virginia
• Steering Committee membership on the VSUP Board of Directors/ Steering Committee for Superintendents
• Membership on the VSUP Professional Development Steering Committee for designated Assistant Superintendents and school division Instructional leaders
• Access to high quality professional development for teachers and administrators in member school divisions through data-driven, consortium professional development opportunities and leadership development experiences based on annual needs assessment
• Access to website and VSUP newsletters and publications
• Partnerships with the University of Virginia School of Education and UVA School of Continuing and Professional Studies with collaborative planning and offering of coursework o member school divisions
• Opportunities for school divisions to participate in workshops and conferences featuring state and national presenters and numerous educational consultants and experts
• Participation in annual needs assessment and planning of workshops and conferences based on identified professional development recommendations of participating school divisions
• Reduced fees and special rates to attend consortium workshop and conferences
• Access to the high quality, vetted test bank items for Math 5, 6, 7, 8 and US History 1 & 2 and access to a central test item bank by VSUP school divisions
• Opportunities for consortium school divisions to participate in alternative licensure programs for aspiring school administrators and for teacher licensure in order to address the teacher and administrative shortages in Virginia
• Reduced rates for administrators, central office personnel, and school teams to participate in an annual summer leadership conference. Recent keynotes include Tony Wagner, John Antonetti, Robert Marzano, Deborah Pickering, and Joe Wheelan
• Access to numerous one day workshops and conferences for teachers and administrators, including the recent following topics:

• Representation and leadership experiences for high school students at the unique Annual Student Leadership Conference focused on assisting high school students in the development of leadership skills
• Collaborative venue for problem regarding educational policy and instructional issues, such as SOL revisions, NCLB, RTI. ELL, and other challenges to programs and services in school divisions.
• Access to grant programs and teacher training opportunities in collaboration with various University of Virginia programs
