VSUP MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS, PROGRAMS, AND SERVICES

  • Membership in a professional development partnership with the Curry School of Education of the University of Virginia and 24 school divisions in central Virginia
  • Steering Committee membership on the VSUP Board of Directors/ Steering Committee for Superintendents

  • Opportunities for consortium school divisions to participate in alternative licensure programs for aspiring school administrators and for teacher licensure in order to address the teacher and administrative shortages in Virginia
  • Reduced rates for administrators, central office personnel, and school teams to participate in an annual summer leadership conference. Recent keynotes include Carol Tomlinson and Dan Mulligan
  • Access to numerous one day workshops and conferences for teachers and administrators, including the recent following topics:

    Literacy Strategies for Elementary and Middle School
    Math Strategies for SOL Improvement
    Response to Intervention
    21st Learning Skills
    Teacher Leadership and Coaching Training
    Using Data to Improve Student Achievement

  • Representation and leadership experiences for high school students at the unique Annual Student Leadership Conference focused on assisting high school students in the development of leadership skills
  • Collaborative venue for problem regarding educational policy and instructional issues, such as SOL revisions, NCLB, RTI. ELL, and other challenges to programs and services in school divisions.
  • Access to grant programs and teacher training opportunities in collaboration with various University of Virginia programs
