Workshop Details

Turn your history classroom into a community of learners discussing, debating, and analyzing primary and secondary sources. Transform a teacher-directed classroom into one that is student-centered through inquiry, harnessing powerful digital tools and resources with an emphasis on historical thinking skills. Commit to starting a new year where your classroom becomes “the room where it happens.”

Recertification points will be given at the end of the PD workshop after completion of an electronic exit survey.

Terrell Fleming

Mr. Terrell Fleming is a 2005 graduate of Powhatan County High School. He began his teaching career at West Point Middle School after earning his Bachelor of Arts in History from Longwood University. Continuing to build his career, he earned his Masters of Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University a few years later. Mr. Fleming served as a social studies teacher, Department Chair, and Administrative Aide at Short Pump Middle School in Henrico County and is currently the K-12 History and Social Science Specialist for Powhatan County Public Schools.

The registration deadline is January 10, 2023

She will need to know the person’s name and an email address for confirmation.

Workshop Series Cost

The workshop fee is $149 for each participant who is a member of a school division that is a member of VaSCL. You can check here for member divisions.

The registration fee for participants from Non-Member school divisions is $199.

VaSCL has a no refund policy for workshop registrations. In the event that a workshop is canceled by VaSCL, refunds will be made in full.

If you would like to pay now by credit card or through a PayPal/credit account, you will be given an opportunity to do so below.

If payment is not made by credit card/PayPal account at registration, the person whom you identified as the Billing Contact will be sent an invoice for payment of your registration fee.
